Tab-Delimited File Support

Added support for tab delimited files. The tool should support exports from Google Ads.

Technical Details
  • Implemented robust pandas-based file parsing with automatic encoding detection
  • Added support for UTF-16 Little Endian encoding used by Google Ads exports
  • Automatic delimiter detection for comma, tab, and semicolon separated files
  • Replaced manual CSV parsing with pandas for better reliability with various file formats
  • Fixed column separation issues that caused all data to appear in single column

Enhanced File Encoding Support

Added support for more encoding types. Now the tool can parse exports from multiple tools, not just SEMRush.

Technical Details
  • Implemented smart encoding detection for CSV files
  • Supports UTF-8, Windows-1252, ISO-8859-1, UTF-16, and ASCII encodings
  • Handles exports from Excel, Google Sheets, and other tools seamlessly
  • Eliminates "CSV parsing failed" warnings for properly formatted files
  • Added "House", "Day", and "Worth" to ambiguous terms list for better filtering accuracy

Row Preservation Update

I decided it's better not to de-duplicate keywords. Now if 50k rows go in, 50k come back.

Technical Details
  • Removed automatic keyword deduplication from processing pipeline
  • Input and output row counts now match exactly
  • Preserves duplicate keywords as they may have different contexts or purposes
  • Maintains data integrity for bulk processing workflows

Enhanced Geographic Disambiguation

Added a list of ambiguous toponyms. Implemented some disambiguation. Working on improving the dataset of ambiguous toponyms.

Technical Details
  • Added 8 new ambiguous toponyms to reduce false positives (total now 116)
  • Implemented smart filtering for common words like "green", "orange", "lawn"
  • Fixed state abbreviation matching to prevent false matches on words like "in", "or", "us"
  • Multi-word geographic terms like "Green Bay" and "Orange Beach" still match correctly
  • Match rate calculations now show whole numbers instead of decimals
